The book contains Day- and UV-light life size pictures of 25 of the best preserved Stradivari Violins of all periods from famous European collections including the "Messie", a rarely photographed pristine Strad. Many of these instruments have not been documented in the past decades and under any circumstances by these means. Also there are pictures of one of his guitars, and some violas as well. A complete listing of this information is located on the Stradivari Varnish site. Brigitte Brandmair took years gaining access to and analyzing these amazing violins. The photography is second to none, done by the well respected photographer Jan Röhrmann.

Needless to say, this is a must have reference book for anyone wanting learn from a scientific basis what can be understood from the UV light analysis, and to have detailed references on some of the most famous Stradivarious violins ever made.

PLEASE NOTE: Shipping is quite reasonable! Even with its weight of 5 Kg. (10.00 lbs  14 oz.), for instance we can ship it to anywhere in North America for only €55.14 (with current exchange that is ROUGHLY(varies with exchange - about  $79.00 US or  CDN dollars) The price in Europe is about 20 - 25 Euros, depending on the country. Switzerland is 25€, for example.
There was a small price increase (9.09 €) due to a change in distribution on June 12, 2011. We are sorry to have to increase the selling price, but this is something we could not avoid. For those of you that already bought the book, your investment is now worth more :)
