Shipping & Handling
Dear Customer,
We offer a selection of shipping options to best meet your needs and keep cost to a minimum, and all give the choice of shippment tracking. Austian Post "Packet" service gives the best price internationally and provides a tracking number. Some people wish for more detailed tracking information, but they do provide details on where the shippment is in processing when supplied with the information from, say, US Customs, when supplied. Also available is the option to Ship with Fedex or DHL. Because Fedex is in control of packages in the originating and arriving country, there tracking information is regulated internally and may be updated more frequently. They are of course still having to wait for such information from customs offices in foreign countries, but provide more information details on the package routing through its travels.
FOR EMS SHIPPING
Please select Austrian Post if you would like this option, as it is a service sent through the Austrian Post. Then in the notes section of the order, please note "QUTOE ON EMS SHIPPING PLEASE". We will send you a quote on the EMS shipping, as the price for the Austrian Post is the basic rate and it auto calculates only the "Packet" service. Sorry for the confusion on this, but there is no other way for us to calculate this automatically.
Advantages of the EMS sending are the following:
1. Faster USA delivery times (5 - 7 business days) - this is twice as fast as the "packet" service they previously offered.
2. Included phone numbers or email for notification and delivery handling in case of issues.
A rough estimate of EMS shipping rates are about 2 times the cost of the normal Austrian Post "Packet" service that you can select in the order.
Also available is the option to Ship with Fedex or DHL.
Unfortunately the margins on which we operate necessitate a packaging and handling fee at frugal 3 euro per order (included automatically in the shipping charge) to make sure your order is protected.
We use high quality packaging materials, and internally package all items as well as we can to avoid damage. Weights quoted always include a bit of tolerance for the packing material needed to ship. Multiple objects in one order are automatically calculated as one package and priced by the shipper. Bulky or heavy objects might have extra costs added to them, due to the necessity for securely packaging. We will let you know if there are extra charges before we send your package. We use the same packaging as Amazon for books, to ensure the best protection. We now reinforce Stradivari Varnish book boxes on the ends to make sure there is no damage on the corners. (We had 2 cases of that so far in shipping to the US, and we don't want that to happen again).
We only send goods in new condition unless expressly stated in the item description. We may have opened packages to inspect or verify working condition,
please understand we are doing this to ensure a perfect product at your door.
Shipping prices are as stated at the time of purchase. If we can save you some money in shipping when we research that at the time of sending, we will notify you and pass on the discount from the quoted price. Our goal is to save you money where we can, not to make money from you by sending you products.

DAMAGE: If a package arrives to you in a damaged condition (quickly open it and inspect it upon receipt) you will need to file a claim with the shipping carrier, or refuse the shippment. These are your options on any shippment you receive. BUT You MUST indicate at the time of RECEIVING the package it is in good condition, or not, as this is part of what you are signing receipt for. Add a comment " the box was damaged, to be inspected, and damage to be claimed if warrented", or if they push you to inspect it then, do so, and decide if it is enough to refuse the shippment. When you receive goods you are signing off for receiving the goods, and also to close the insurance that the shipping carrier provides. No claims can be made after this point if you accept the shippment and it is damaged. This is the same procedure with every package you have ever received. No shipping company likes to make anyone aware of this upon receipt, or obviously they would have more refused packages and more insurance claims for their fault in damaging the goods. We send the goods in new condition, and they insure it that will arrive in the same condition, and your payment of shipping inclusive of coverage of your purchase with insurance from the Carrier. We do not offer insurance, the shipping company does, just to be clear. Email us IMMEDIATELY if the shippment is refused. Better yet is to take a picture of the damage before they take it away, or if you plan to claim, and email it to us with a picture of the Waybill on the front so we have all the information. If you are making a claim, we may be able to provide you with a letter stating our opinion of the resell value of a damaged book. There is no guarentee this will help, but it about the extent we can help in this situation. As we are not the purchaser of the insurance, we cannot make the claim or be involved directly in it. It is like car insurance. You buy a car from a dealer, and you insure it. You cannot go back to the dealer and ask them to make a claim on your insurance for you.
I hope all this clarifies our position, and your position on receiving shippments. Always use this knowledge when receiving anything via a shipping carrier that has insurance on your goods.
